That bad windstorm we had years ago knocked out our power for almost a week in Duvall, and every day was a new list of chores to do while we still had light, it was a struggle to keep warm in the freezing house, plus food prep over campstoves or open fire, and yet it was strangely peaceful and the true meaning of the holidays seemed to come forth from the chaos.
