Every year when the Meyer lemon season gets underway I host a potluck dinner where everyone is asked to bring a Meyer lemon dish, from entrees to desserts. Everything has to have Meyer lemons in it. I can't wait to show off your Game Hen Meyer Lemon Cream Sauce dish. I just know it will be a big hit.

A room full of appreciative applause to you in advance from my Meyer lemon potluck dinner guests,

Gilda

You are drooling. I am drooling. We're all drooling.

How do you choose the best Meyer lemons? We would love your advice on this question.

I do know this. Meyer lemons are vibrant in color and more spherical in shape. When shopping for Meyer lemons, look for brightly colored fruits that have no traces of green, mold or mushiness. Meyer lemons are thinner skinned and slightly bigger than their acidic, run of the mill counterparts.

What time of are Meyers in season? Meyer lemons are generally available sporadically between November to May.

I've been wanting to try a salt crust, and I thought of doing it with little game hens first, so this is perfect. I like seeing something before I make it -- I need visual reference! Too lovely!
